Three...of a perfect pair
World Superbike Press Release

Last year at this stage - four rounds still to go - the unstoppable Bayliss was fully 82 points ahead of Max Neukirchner and 92 ahead of Troy Corser. There may have been little chance of anyone catching Bayliss, but the battle for second was the other main focus, as Carlos Checa was 101 points from Bayliss, Haga 104 off the lead.
In 2007, James Toseland (the eventual champion by only two points), was an impressive 43 points ahead of Max Biaggi with four rounds left to run, with Haga only two points behind Max, and Bayliss 11 points behind Nori. But within the space of eight races Toseland's championship advantage dropped to only two! So as we can see, there is still everything to play for in 2009.
