World SBK – Donington

This weekend the Hannspree FIM Superbike World Championship heads to Donington Park. Hopefully the weather will fair better than at the Misano World Circuit. Donington Park is the ninth round and one of the shortest circuits on the World Superbike calendar.
With 300 points left to win in this season’s World Superbike Championship, a clear winner is yet to be decided. The top three riders in championship points are Ducati Xerox team-mates, Noriyuki Haga and Michel Fabrizio, and Yamaha World Superbike's Ben Spies.
In Misano, Spies was faced with technical issues and an unfamiliar track, this resulted in a less than perfect performance for the Texan. This will not be the case in Donington; Spies raced for Suzuki in MotoGP last year.
Jonathan Rea, Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider, sits 125 points behind the lead, but he may be a contender this weekend on his home turf. In race 2 at Misano Rea’s talent began to shine through, and this, combined with the improved Ohlins suspension, means that he will be a potential winner this weekend at the only British round in this year's championship.
