Jonathan Rea set a new track record at Magny Cours this afternoon during the third Superpole session for the World Superbike series. Rea clocked a 1'37.490 time around the French Circuit to take the pole position ahead of Eugene Laverty and Championship leader Carlos Checa.
Rea hung in the middle of the pack during the first two Superpole sessions, but the Honda rider took advantage of the perfect weather conditions in Superpole 3 to put down the fastest lap of the day.
The front row of the grid tomorrow will see three different manufacturers. (Rea - Honda / Lavaerty - Yamaha / Checa - Ducati) Leon Camier will make it four manufacturers in the top four as he starts the second row about his Aprilia.
Camier will be joined by Sylvain Guintoli and Tom Sykes.
