Max Biaggi no long has a shot at the 2011 World Superbike title, but the 2010 champion was still looking to end the season with a couple more race wins. Biaggi, who reluctantly missed the Imola round last weekend, will also miss this weekend's event at Magny Cours.
Biaggi injured his foot during the World Superbike round at Nurburgring and the injury is still preventing him from riding a motorcycle.
"I would have liked to have been at Magny Cours, just as I wanted to race at Imola," said Biaggi. "The fact that I was at the track on Thursday to try any possible solution confirms that, even if, unfortunately, I had to give in to the medical evidence. And the same thing happened for Magny Cours, a round which is just too close to hope for recovery.
"Unfortunately this injury requires a recovery time which does not reconcile with my desires. Now I'll do my best to go through the recovery process and to end this season at the Portimao round."
Biaggi will have a week off next weekend before the 2011 World Superbike series concludes on October 16th at Portimao.
