Biaggi Tops Checa in First German Qualifying

Max Biaggi ended the first qualifying session in Germany at the top of the time sheets. Biaggi beat out his championship rivals Carlos Checa and Max Biaggi to take the provisional pole position.

Biaggi set a 1'55.524 lap around the Nurburgring circuit, beating out Checa by .149 seconds. Marco Melandri was just another fraction behind the top 2.

Carlos Checa has started to pull away with the 2011 World Superbike Championship, but Max Biaggi is determined to get back some points this weekend. Biagg currently trails the season leader by 62 points.
