Max Biaggi claimed his second win of the 2011 World Superbike season after an intense battle with Marco Melandri. Melandri got the best of Biaggi in race 1, but the 2010 champion was able to hold off Melandri during race 2 to claim victory by .2 seconds.
"It has been very tough all weekend," Biaggi said. "Carlos and Marco were very fast, but I am happy with the result."
Carlos Checa, who had his lead at the top cut down to thirty points over the weekend, finished in a comfortable third position, four seconds ahead of Michel Fabrizio.
