Xaus Leads Warm-Ups at Miller

ruben_xaus_2It was a cold but sunny morning at Miller Motorsports Park today as the World Superbike riders took to the track for a warm-up session.The World Superbike riders were the first on the track today to test out the drying Utah track. Ruben Xaus led the way, while riders like Carlos Checa only put in a couple of laps around the track.

Xaus set a 1’52.148 lap time around the track. The World Superbike riders were well under their wet track times from yesterday, but were still about 10 seconds from their dry lap times that they set on Saturday.

The World Superbike riders will likely have a dry race this afternoon, but temperatures are expected to stay in the low 50s.

Carlos Checa has been the man to beat so far at MMP. Checa claimed the pole position yesterday on a wet track, and was also fastest on Saturday in better conditions.

The World Superbike riders will have their first race of the weekend at noon today. The second race will begin at 3:30.
