Rea Cleared by Doctors, Will Race at Donnington Park

jonathan_reaJonathan Rea had a rough outing at Phillip Island last weekend. Rea had a few crashes, a few bruises, but according to doctors, no serious injuries. Rea has been given the "all clear" by his doctor and will be set to race at the next World Superbike round at Donnington Park.

"I just saw my specialist in Manchester and he has given me the 'all clear,' and confirmed that there is no further damage to my repaired ligament in my left wrist," Rea said. "There is only some soft tissue damage to the right wrist. That is really good news and all I have to do now is work hard in rehab to regain full function."

Rea fought through the pain at Phillip Island to claim a 12th place finish during race 1, and an amazing 4th place effort during race 2. Rea's valiant efforts scored him 17 points and 6th place in the overall standings, but it also left him physically drained.

"It was really hard in Australia; it drained me of everything," Rea said. "But now I have got a spring in my step again. I should be close to full fitness in time for Donington, so I should have no pain like before."
