Corser Captures Maiden Pole for BMW

wsbk_misano_corserIn only its second season of International track racing, BMW has scored its first front row start, and now, its first pole position. Troy Corser showed what the BMW machine was capable as he topped two of the four session prior to the qualifying at Misano, and put in a superb effort when it counted, to give BMW their maiden pole.

Cal Crutchlow took SP1 and SP2, but Corser topped the timesheets in SP3 with a 1'35.001 lap at the start of the session. Max Biaggi, Michel Fabrizio, and Crutchlow all did their best to catch up to Corser's time, but no one managed to get within a half a second of the BMW rider.

Biaggi took second, followed by Fabrizio and Crutchlow to finish off the front row of the grid. Carlos Checa and Sylain Guintoli finished 5th and 6th, while season leader Leon Haslam could only manage a 7th place finish. Luca Scassa, who has had a great weekend thus far, finishes off the second row in 8th.
