Carlos Checa will be starting in the pole position during the Memorial Day races at Miller Motorsports park for the World Superbike.
Checa won his first pole position on American soil two years ago, and proved once again to be unbeatable during today's superpole event.
Checa beat his personal lap record with a 1'47.081 second lap time. Numerous riders held the best lap time momentarily during the superpole event, but it was Checa who proved to be the fastest around the track, bringing Althea Ducati its first pole position of the season.
Max Biaggi finished in second, followed by Cal Crutchlow and Jakub Smrz to finish off the front row of the grid. Season leader Leon Haslam will front the second row of the grid with a fifth place finish.
