Yamaha Sterligarda has earned the two top spots on the grid for race one at the 6th round of the World Superbike in Kyalami. Cal Cruthclow has earned the pole position, followed by teammate James Toseland. Crutchlow has yet to win a race this year, but he has earned three pole positions this World SBK season. Toseland was looking for his first pole position of the season, but was edged out by .017 seconds. Starting second on the grid is still Toseland’s best start this season.
Ducati takes the next two spots on the front row of the grid. Privateer Carlos Checa finished third, followed by Fabrizio.
Season leader Leon Haslam came in fifth. His biggest competition, Max Biaggi, finished seventh.
