Hill Breaks Record, Takes Pole Position

hill_pole_positionTommy Hill, who topped the first official session on Friday, kept his Swan Yamaha at the front of the pack today with a record breaking lap around the Brands Hatch circuit. Hill will be putting his Yamaha at the front of the grid this afternoon for the first of three races at Brands Hatch.

Hill set a 1'25.357 lap during the British Superbike qualifying session to beat John Hopkins, Michael Laverty, and Joan Lascorz. It is Hill's third pole position of the 2011 British Superbike season.

Shane Byrne will start from the second row ahead of Martin Jessopp, Michael Rutter, and James Westmoreland.
