With Michael Laverty and Tommy Hill, The Swan Yamaha Team Will be Tough to Beat During the 2011 BSBK Season
The British Superbike lineup continues to evolve for the 2011 season. The latest news is that Irishman Michael Laverty will be joining Tommy Hill on the Swan Yamaha team for the 2011 British Superbike season.
“I am really excited about the season ahead and joining the Swan Yamaha team alongside Tommy and I know we can definitely push each other all the way for the championship,” Laverty said. “I have had a good year and now I believe that I can take another step forward and fight for the 2011 BSB title with the support that the team have in place for next season.”
Laverty already has a British Supersport championship under his belt, and got his first taste of the British Superbike division last year. Laverty took two wins during the 2010 season, and with the veteran help of Tommy Hill, Laverty could up his total in 2011.
“I am really looking forward to the Easter weekend now and I think winter will go a lot faster knowing that I am going to be riding for one of the strongest teams in the BSB paddock,” Laverty said.
The Swan Honda team had a difficult 2010 season, but Shuan Muir is confident that Hill, Laverty, and new backing from Yamaha will help the team to be competitive in 2011.
“It is an exiting time for the whole team and the prospect of Michael joining Tommy in the Swan Yamaha garage next season shows that we intend to come back even stronger next year. We truly believe that we have signed two of the brightest prospects in BSB who will both be ready to come out fighting for the championship.
