Tommy Hill was just .2 seconds away from completing a perfect weekend for the British Superbike at Croft, but Michael Laverty was too fast during race two, and captured a win that launched him into second place in the overall standings.
Laverty narrowly lost out to Hill in race one, but was able to exact his revenge in race two.
"That was a really tough race and I knew Tommy was going to be there fighting hard for that win, especially after race one,” said Laverty. “I pegged him back and just went for it, got passed and then knew I had to put in two really good laps to hold him off. I was waiting for him to try and pass as I could see from my pitboard and the big screen he was right behind me, but we kept pushing and a win is a great result for the Relentless Suzuki team."
Stuart Easton put in another solid effort to claim the final spot on the podium ahead of Ryuichi Kiyonari. Kiyonari had a disappointing result in race 1, but managed to work his way up to fourth in race two. Kiyonari, who was tied in 1st with Tommy Hill going into this weekend, dropped down to third behind Laverty.
Michael Rutter took the fifth place spot in front of James Ellison and Tommy Bridwell, before the next title fighter, Josh Brookes, crossed the line in 8th.
