Tom Sykes rode to his first British Superbike victory since Knockhill in 2008 today, fending off Ryuichi Kiyonari. Kiyonari's second place finish moves him up on the leaderboard into a three way tie for first with Josh Brookes and Tommy Hill. The tie at the top will be broken, as there is still one more race left at Brands Hatch.
"It's nice to be back and that was a good race. I was pleased to get out front and we made big changes since yesterday and they clearly paid off, so thanks to the team for their hard work," said Sykes. "We now want a repeat performance in the next one to try and make it a double."
Sykes won by more than a second today ahead of Kiyonari, putting Kawasaki at the top for the first time since Mallory Park. Michael Rutter finished in third, followed by Michael Laverty and James Ellison.
