Alastair Seeley took his first British Superbike victory during the first race at Brands Hatch this weekend. Seeley beat out Michael Rutter and Ryuichi Kiyonari to win the first of three races at Brands Hatch.
"It is unbelievable to have won the race and I feel on top of the world right now. This is what I came to BSB to do and the team gave us a good package to be up the front," Seeley said. "It was a bit touch and go at the beginning as I just needed to push my way through and get to the front. I lost count how many times I had slides, or felt like I was on the edge, but the top step of the podium is just the best feeling and I want to do the same tomorrow now."
It was a big win for Seeley. Seeley was holding on to the last spot in the top six by just two points at the beginning of the race, but has now extended his lead to 17 over John Laverty.
At the top, Josh Brookes pulls ahead of Tommy Hill, who has yet to find his rhythm at Brands Hatch. Hill finished in 15th, while Rutter came in fourth behind Rutter and Kiyonari.
The Swan Honda Riders continue to struggle. James Ellison managed a 7th place finish behind Michael Laverty, while Easton crashed with two laps remaining.
