Kiyo Claims Pole at Mallory

bsb_kiyonariThe British Superbike has returned, and Ryuichi Kiyonari claimed a fantastic pole position at the Swan Combi Role for Pole at Mallory Park.

After the first Qualifying session, Michael Laverty had the advantage after numerous riders, including season leader Tommy Hill, crashed around the Mallory Park track. Hill was able to get in one last lap during Q1 to land him in the top 20.

Q2 faired better for Hill, as he was able to pull into 5th place. Stuart Easton and James Ellison finished 14th and 15th, and did not advance to the final qualifying.

Laverty led going into Q3, but Kiyonari put in a fast lap at the end of the session to claim the pole position. Kiyonari finished with a 55.650 second time, just .28 seconds ahead of Laverty. Hill moved into 3rd at the end of Q3, and Michael Rutter completes the front row in fourth.

Josh Brookes, Andrew Pitt, Karl Harris, and Dan Linfoot will make up the second row.
