The fourth round of the British Superbike at Cadwell Park got off to a high flying start as Stuart Easton and Michael Rutter battled for the first place spot. Rutter and Easton swapped the top spot back and forth throughout the day, but in the end, Easton took top honors at Free Practice one.
"That was a decent start to the weekend. It did not take long to adjust from riding the roads to here. I came here well prepared and made a conscious effort to push the front which you don't do on the roads," said Easton. I got settled in fast, and was pretty much running the pace I was on before the crash here in pre-season testing, and then the better times came, and getting in that 28.6 lap at the end of the session was using the same tyre so that is a goo start."
The opening session around the mountain track saw a few riders fall to the ground. Josh Brookes fell early on, but was able to crawl back into the top ten by the end of the session. Motorpoint Yamaha saw two riders take a dive in Mike Lowry and Dan Linfoot.
Season leader Tommy Hill finished off the top three, just .3 seconds behind Easton.
