Relentless Suzuki Gets Maiden Victory With Thanks to Laverty

bsbk_laverty_oulton_parkThe Relentless Suzuki by TAS team celebrated its maiden victory as Michael Laverty crossed the finish line at the British Superbike Championships in Oulton park.

Laverty rode a flawless race to establish a comfortable 6 second space between him and his closest competitor, Michael Rutter.

"The only way I can describe that race was awesome, especially as I was able to win in such as convincing way and if I am honest it was quite easy,” said Laverty. “You want to be able to win your first BSB race in style and that is what we did; the conditions played in to our hands a bit but the whole team deserved it after the last few rounds. It has been a good weekend for us Laverty’s so we will be celebrating tonight."

Michael Laverty’s fifth place finish in race one, and race two win, place him in fourth in the overall standings. John Laverty came in 5th place, 23 seconds behind his brother. John Laverty finished third in the first race of the day.

Rutter came in second place, 6 seconds behind the leader, to claim his first pole position of the season. Tommy Hill, who gave Stuart Easton a run for his money in race one, finishes off the podium with a third place finish.

Hill is at the top of the pack in the overall standings with 126 points. Easton had a chance to close the gap on Hill as he dominated the free practice sessions and won race one, but Easton didn’t manage to complete the second race, and walks away without any points. Easton is in second place in the overall standings with 75 points.
