Stuart Easton has been at the top of his game and at the front of the pack this weekend, as the British Superbike riders take their run at Oulton Park. Easton led through all three practice times, but lost the pole position to Tommy Hill.
But Easton got the jump on Hill off the line, and took the lead ahead of Hill. Easton and Hill would slowly pull away from the rest of the pack, but Hill was never able to get the best of Easton, who rides to his first victory of the season.
"It's great to win the first race of the season for the Swan Honda team and I had a good start and just managed to hold off Tommy Hill,” said Easton. “I got off to a good start, which is quite typical and then every lap my board just said +0 and its just a case of keeping it all together and just counting down the laps. It was a close one out there but hopefully we can make it two out of two in the next one."
Ten seconds passed before the next rider crossed the line. The hotly contested third spot on the podium was eventually picked up by John Laverty, who successfully fended off attempts by Alastair Seeley, his brother John Laverty, and Josh Brookes, who finished fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively.
