Martin Jessop will be competing in the 2012 World Supersport series this year with the PRT Honda team. Jessop, a proven British Superbike rider, will bring motorcycle retail chain Riders with him as he joins the WSS.
Jessop has raced in both the British Superbike and British Supersport series and is now ready to move on to the world stage.
"I am over the moon to have 2012 all sorted. I said at the end of the 2011 season my objective was to get into the World Championship and Supersport was my best opportunity," Jessop said. "I sat down with my team and Riders and we wanted a squad at the sharp end of the Championship so I would know I had a good bike and proven package. The British based PTR team was my number one choice and to get a ride with them was brilliant - it's not often that a racer gets his first choice so I can honestly say I could not be happier."
Jessop will get his first chance to test the PTR Honda during a private test in Europe in January. Jessop will also be at the testing session at Phillip Island before the opening round of the series on February 26th.
