Chaz Davies and Luca Scassa of the Yamaha ParkinGO World Supersport team found themselves at the top of the timesheets after the first qualifying session at Monza.
Davies, who at the previous round in Monza, and Scassa, who won the first two races of the 2011 World Supersport season, finished more than a half a second ahead of third place rider Gino Rea.
Rea was followed by another Honda rider, Florian Marino, before the quickest Kawasaki crossed the line in fifth, ridden by Broc Parkes.
