The top three riders at the end of the second qualifying session of the World Supersport at Silverstone were within four hundredths of a second of one another. Eugene Laverty came out on top, narrowly beating out rivals Kenan Sofuoglu and Joan Lascorz.
Laverty, Sofuoglu, and Lascorz are in a three way battle for the WSS title, with Sofuoglu leading the way with 183 points. Laverty has the most work to do out of the three, as he is currently 22 points behind Sofuoglu on the overall leader board, but well within striking distance.
Roberto Tamburini finished fourth, giving Yamaha its first front row start of the season.
Robbin Harms had a solid session, and looked ready for a front row start, but dropped down to fifth behind Lascorz and Tamburini. Harms will be joined by Gino Rea, Katsuaki Fujiwara and Massimo Roccoli.
