Laverty Take Provisional Pole

wss_lavertyEugene Laverty started the World Supersport round at Misano in the best possible way, taking the provisional pole position at the first qualifying session.

Laverty took a fall early in the session, and had to catch up with Michele Pirro, who held the top spot going into the penultimate lap.  Laverty was able to make one last pass, finishing .12 seconds below Pirro's time.

Third place went to the Italian wild card, Roberto Tamburini, who crashed out shortly after setting his quick pace.

Season leader Kenan Sofuoglu took fourth, while rookie Gino Rea finished a solid fifth.
