The 6th round of the World Supersport championships in Kyalami, South Africa, has been all about Eugene Laverty. Laverty won both qualifying sessions, and will start from the pole position during tomorrow’s race.
Laverty just missed the 1 minute 40 second mark with a 1:40’812 lap time. Laverty is third in the overall standings, but has half of the race wins this season. Kenan Sofuoglu, who sits just 6 points ahead of Laverty, finished in second, with his teammate Michele Pirro finishing third.
Season leader Joan Lascorz finished had an unimpressive day with an 8th place finish, to claim the last spot on the second row.
Katsuaki Fujiwara finishes off the front row with a fourth place finish.
