Arthur Sissis was on his way to the Red Bull Rookies Cup Championship, but an unfortunate string of races has left the former season leader in a difficult spot as we head to the final round. With just one races remaining, Sissis trails Lorenzo Baldassarri by 6 points.
Sissis has earned four DNFs in the last five races, but the 16-year-old Australian still poses the biggest threat to Baldassarri and the championship. Sissis has taken four wins and 7 podiums so far this season, and if he can keep his bike rubber side down this weekend at Misano, he should be gunning for the podium.
Baldassarri doesn't have the wins that Sissis does, but the 15-year-old has scored points at every round this season. Baldassarri has been the most consistent rider in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, and with two wins he now leads the series with 192 points.
Baldassarri and Sissis are the only two riders capable of winning the championship this weekend, but there are plenty of riders who are still eager for race wins. The Red Bull Rookies Cup has seen 7 riders take victory this season.
The final race of the Red Bull Rookies Cup is scheduled for 4:30 CET in Misano. You can watch the race live at Redbull.tv.
