There is only one race left in the Red Bull Rookies Cup, and only 11 points seperate the top two riders. Danny Kent and Jake Gagne will battle it out on the Misano track to decide who will be crowned the 2010 Red Bull Rookies Champion.
Gagne, who turned 17 last week, leads Kent, 16, by 11 points. If Gagne can keep himsef on the podium, he'll be able to secure the 2010 Red Bull Rookies Cup Championship regardless of what Kent does.
But Kent can't focus on that. If he wants a chance at the title, he has to win tomorrow's race. Kent hasn't won since the first race of the season, but he has 5 other podium finishes this year.
Both riders will be experiencing the Misano track for the first time, so it's hard to tell who has the edge going into this weekend's race, but one thing is for sure, just because Kent and Gagne are battling for the title, doesn't mean that somone else won't win the Misano.
There have been 5 different winners so far this season, and nine different riders have stood on the podium. Each one of the Rookies wants to end their season strong, and will have one last chance to take home a race win.
Danny Hiura, Brad Binder, and Daniel Ruiz are all battling for third place. Hiura and Binder are tied with 109, but Ruiz is close behind with 104.
Everything is on the line this weekend for the Red Bull Rookies, but we'll have to wait to find out who will take home the cup.
