The third round of the Red Bull Rookies Cup will be held this weekend at the historic Assen track. The Red Bull Rookies will get to rub elbows with the big MotoGP stars, but they'll also get to showcase their talents at the Dutch TT. Daijiro Hiura got his first win of the 2010 Rookies Cup at Mugello, his first win since 2008. Hiura has been on the podium at every race so far, and his win at Mugello put him in the lead, just three points over Danny Kent.
"This week it's the Netherlands, the Dutch TT. I want to win this one also,” said 15 year old Hiura.
Kent missed his first podium of the season at Mugello, finishing in fourth behind Mathew Scholtz and Brad Binder.
Daniel Ruiz has the other race win this season, and is just 10 points behind Hiura. Ruiz had a disappointing finish at Mugello, coming in at 6th after claiming the pole position.
No clear favorite has emerged from the field of racers in the Red Bull Rookies Cup. The biggest margin of victory so far this season has been just .27 seconds.
