On New Year's Eve, Robbie Maddison and Levi Lavallee launched themselves over the San Diego Bay in an attempt to break a new world record.
Maddison fell a few feet short of his target. Maddison jumped his motorcycle 378 feet over the San Diego Bay, but was 13 feet short of the world record.
Levi Lavallee, on the other hand, added 50 feet to the world record. Lavallee, who made the jump on a snowmobile, was hoping to break a record of 361 feet. Well, Lavallee broke it. He smashed it. He soar 50 feet past it to land his snowmobile after flying through the air 412 feet.
"I was just excited to make it to the other side in one piece. I'm exploding with energy right now," LaVallee said. "When I saw the 410 marker go by, I knew it was going to be an amazing jump."
So what does it look like when you're setting a world record? Red Bull just released the helmet cam footage of Levi Lavallee's jump. So here it is. Let's all go live vicariously through Lavallee.
