Want to experience the Isle of Man TT? If you can't make it out to the legendary race, TT 3D could be the next best thing. TT 3D: Closer to the Edge is a new documentary about racing at the Isle of Man, and of course, it's in 3D.
"The TT has been filmed before, however, not until now have the tools existed that could do justice to those that have competed over the 37¾ miles that make up the legendary Mountain Circuit," said Economic Development Minister Allan Bell.
Here's a trailer from the new documentary, TT3D: Closer to the Edge.
TT3D will give some spectacular shots of the famous mountain course, but it will also give an in-depth look at the100 year history of the iconic event, plus a behind-the-scenes peak at some of the riders that are still making this event one of the greatest races in the world.
"By vividly recounting the TT's legendary rivalries and the Isle of Man's unique road racing history, this 3D feature documentary will discover why modern TT riders still risk their lives to win the world's most dangerous race," writes CinemaNX, the company that is producing the film. "The Isle of Man Tourist Trophy is the greatest motorcycle road race in the world, the ultimate challenge for rider and machine. It has always called for a commitment far beyond any other racing event, and many have made the ultimate sacrifice in their quest for victory. A story about freedom of choice, the strength of human spirit and the will to win. It's also an examination of what motivates those rare few, this elite band of brothers who risk everything to win."
TT3D: Closer to the Edge is set for release in the UK on April 23rd. Hopefully it makes it stateside shortly afterward.
