Michael Dunlop, who has already won a Supersport race at the Isle of Man TT, is targeting the "big bike" race this year at the IOMTT with the help of Paul Bird Motorsports and Kawasaki's ZX-10R.
Paul Bird Motorsports will be preparing the ZX-10R to similar specifications as Stuart Easton's championship British Superbike motorcycle. Dunlop's Isle of Man TT bike will also share similar traits to the bikes used by Tom Sykes, Chris Vermeulen, and Joan Lascorz in the World Superbike series.
Even though Paul Bird Motorsports will be preparing Dunlop's motorcycle, Dunlop will be riding under his own Michael Dunlop Racing banner. Dunlop will also retain long time sponsor Street Sweep as his main sponsor.
"I'm grateful to Paul for giving me this opportunity," Dunlop said. "It's great to be riding for this team and have my own people on board again as well.
"There's no reason why I can't win big bike races on this bike and make a name for myself by following in the footsteps of my dad Robert and uncle Joey."
