Scottish rider Jimmy Storrar will be riding in the Isle of Man TT in 2011. It will be Storrar's first appearance at the Isle of Man, but he has already shown that he is capable of keeping pace with some of the best riders in the IOMTT.
Storrar finished 7th at the Macau Grand Prix against some of the biggest IOMTT stars like John McGuinness, Cameron Donald, James McBride and Keith Armor. Storrar also claimed a fourth place victory in the British Superstock season this year at Cadwall Park, and claimed top 10 finishes at Oulton, Croft, and Knockhill.
Storrar will be racing with TC Racing Honda when he makes his debut on the mountain course.
“I’m really pleased to have finally sorted out the right team to race for at the TT,” Storrar said.” I’ve looked at doing it for a couple of years but wanted to make sure that everything was right and I can’t wait to get out there.
“Everyone in the race organization has been really helpful so far and I’m looking forward to learning the course with the Rider Liaison officers Milky Quayle and Johnny Barton. I realize that I’ve got a lot to learn about the course and I know that their experience will really help me.”
TC Racing Honda/DP Coldplanning Team Boss Mick Charnock has personal experience racing at the Isle of Man, and has managed riders like Cameron Donald and David Johnson during their IOMTT debuts.
“We enjoy working with talented newcomers and like to show them the ropes on the Isle of Man,” Charnock said. “Jimmy is a class rider and I’m sure he’ll have a long and successful career at the TT Races.”
