Off-Road Giants Show On-Road Muscle - KTM Joins Isle of Man TT Hot

KTM has long been known for their off-road capabilities, but in recent years, they have also shown their road-racing muscle. They participated in the Austrian and German Superbike Championships in 2009, and now, KTM will try their hand at the legendary TT races.

It may be KTM’s first TT, but James Edmeades, who will pilot the Austrian machine, has three Isle of Man events under his belt.  Edmeades will be riding KTM’s flagship RC8R Superbike.

“The opportunity to become the first KTM rider at the Isle of Man TT Races is a tremendous honour for me,” said Edmeades. “After the three great years I enjoyed between 2006 and 2008, I can’t wait to get back on the Island. The KTM RC8R is a superb bike and I’m sure it will perform well around the course with its excellent handling qualities.”

KTM will be joining the likes of Honda, Yamaha and Kawasaki on the TT grid. They will also be facing off against Suzuki, who will be celebrating their 50th year at the Isle of Man.

KTM will be participating in three events at the Isle of Man, the Superbike, the Superstock, and the Senior TT Races.
