Tommy first started riding at the age of three, and by the time he was 10-years-old he had already won the amateur national title.
Tommy started his pro career on the flat track in 1994 and will still occasionally returns to his roots. But Hayden's eye, for the moment, is on the AMA Superbike title.
Hayden has already earned a few championships in the AMA. In 2004, Hayden won his first AMA Supersport national title. Hayden defended his title the following year, winning the AMA Supersport title over his brother Roger for the second year in a row.
Hayden made the step up to the AMA Superbike series in 2006 and was immediately a competitive rider. Hayden scored 6 top 5 finishes in 2006, and stepped up to the podium at both Laguna Seca and the Mazda Raceway.
Hayden was a consistent top 10 rider in 2008 and 2009, but it wasn't until the 2010 season that Hayden truly upped his game. Hayden scored his first of 5 AMA Superbike wins in 2010, and finished the season in second place for Rockstar Makita Suzuki.
Hayden returns to the Rockstar Makita Suzuki team for 2011 and could snag his first Superbike title.
