Blake Young has been climbing his way through the ranks in the AMA Pro Racing series, and is now one of the prime contenders for 2011.
Blake Young turned pro in 2003, and has slowly turned himself into one of the top riders in the AMA. Young raced in the AMA Supersport and Superstock classes up until 2008, when he made the switch to the Superbike series. Young finished in 6th in both 2009 and 2010, but is now ready to seek the podium.
Young earned three top 10 finishes in his first full year in the AMA Supersport series in 2005. The following year, Young finished in the top 10 in every race he started except one, and earned a 7th place overall finish.
Young continued to excel in both the Superstock and Supersport classes. In 2008, Young scored his first career victories in both the Supersport and Superstock categories on his way to earning a career high fourth place in both series.
Young decided to try his hand in the big leagues in 2008 and started two races in the Superbike series. With one top ten finish, Young decided it was time to race in the premier class.
Young was imediately a competitive rider in the Superbike series. With 17 top 10 finishes, 9 of which were in the top 5, Young earned a 6th place overall finish. But 2010 was truly Young's breakout year. With three race wins, two pole positions, and 12 top five finishes, Young was a threat to the finish line at every race.
