Jorge Lorenzo won't be racing during the Australian GP. The Yamaha rider injured a finger on his left hand during the final moments of the warm-up session in Australia and has been ruled out for the race.
With Lorenzo on the sidelines, Casey Stoner only has to score 10 points to claim the MotoGP championship. If Lorenzo finishes in the top six during the Australian GP, he'll be crowned the 2011 MotoGP champion in front of his home crowd.
Lorenzo high-sided at the exit of turn 12 on his final lap of the 20-minute session. Lorenzo walked away from the crash, but he was ruled unfit for the race after a trip to the medical center
Casey Stoner has won in Australia for the last four years and has finished on the podium at every race but one this season. Short of a crash tomorrow, Casey Stoner just became the 2011 MotoGP champion.
