The MotoGP riders were only able to get in one practice session today at Aragon. Persistent power problems caused chaos throughout the day, until organizers were forced to cancel the afternoon sessions.
Dani Pedrosa topped the morning session with a best lap of 1'50.281 to outpace Jorge Lorenzo. Casey Stoner set the pace early in the session, but he eventually fell behind Lorenzo and Spies.
Simoncelli was the fourth fastest rider for the day, coming in less than a tenth of a second faster than Andrea Dovizioso. Randy De Puniet was able to put his Ducati higher than both Nicky Hayden and Valentino Rossi, while Colin Edwards and Hiroshi Aoyoma completed the top 10.
Due to the power outage, the Saturday morning sessions will be extended to make up for the lost track time.
