Casey Stoner claimed the top spot on the timesheets today at the Indy GP ahead of American Ben Spies and teammate Dani Pedrosa. Stoner set a 1'40.918 during the second free practice session for the MotoGP riders, beating his FP1 time by more than 2 seconds.
Ben Spies also dropped about two seconds from his morning time, but the American wasn't quick enough to maintain the number one spot during FP2.
Dani Pedrosa, who struggled to find the right setting during the morning session, dropped close to five seconds off of his FP1 time to claim the third place spot during FP2.
Jorge Lorenzo took the fourth place spot ahead of Andrea Dovizioso and Colin Edwards, while Marco Simoncelli beat out Nicky Hayden for 7th.
Alvaro Bautista and Randy de Puniet both put in solid times to end the day in ninth and tenth. Valentino Rossi dropped close to two seconds from his morning time, but the Ducati rider ended just one spot out of the top 10 in 11th.
