After a great day of racing in the Czech Republic, the MotoGP riders had the chance to complete a day of testing on their 2012 machines at BRNO.
Yamaha brought out its 2012 1000cc motorcycle for the first time today at BRNO, while Honda continued the development process on their 2012 motorcycles. Ducati spent the majority of the session working on the GP11.1, the bike that Rossi is riding this year.
Jorge Lorenzo and Ben Spies used the good weather to put in a few laps on their future racing bike. Jorge Lorenzo brought the Yamaha prototype around the BRNO circuit for 28 laps, eventually notching a 1'56.253 lap time, four tenths faster than his qualifying time.
Spies also put in a quick time on the new prototype. Spies put in 24 laps on the new bike and recorded a 1'56.306 lap time. Lorenzo and Spies were the 2nd and 3rd fastest riders during the testing session, but neither could match BRNO race winner Casey Stoner's lap time of 1'56.168.
Stoner, who has already been on the 2012 Honda once this year, was the fastest rider during the testing session. Pedrosa, on the other hand, sat on the 2012 for the first time today at the Czech circuit.
In the Ducati garage, Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden continued to work on their 2011 motorcycles. Rossi put in an incredible 74 laps on the GP11.1, but he was unable to bring his time below 1'58. Hayden also worked primarily with the GP11.1. Hayden was the fifth fastest rider on the circuit today.
