It's not ready yet, but the Circuit of Americas is coming. The 3.4 mile long circuit, which will host global events like MotoGP racing, is currently being built in Austin, Texas.
The Circuit of the Americas is expected to be finished by the middle of 2012, with the first MotoGP race being held during the 2013 season. Once the track is finished, the MotoGP riders will have a home in the US for at least 10 years, as Dorna Sports has already signed a contract to bring the world championship of motorcycle racing to the Texas track for the next decade.
"We are delighted to be adding the Circuit of the Americas™ to the MotoGP calendar," said Mr. Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna Sports. "It's an honor to expand our Championship to Texas, which has a rich history of producing World Championship riders."
The Circuit of the Americas just put up this awesome time-lapse video of the construction down in Texas.
