The grid is set and the MotoGP riders are getting ready for the USGP at Laguna Seca. Jorge Lorenzo will be starting from the pole position ahead of the Repsol Honda duo of Casey Stoner and Dani Pedrosa.

The riders are on the grid. We'll have the openeing ceremonies and then the racing action begins.
Jorge Lorenzo has earned the pole position at Laguna Seca for the last three years. Lorenzo won the 2010 race at the Mazda Raceway, and has the speed to do the same today. But a highspeed crash during free practice session has left a few people doubting Lorenzo's condition for today's race. Lorenzo has healthy enough to claim the pole position, but 32 consecutive laps around the tight California circuit could be too much for the Yamaha rider.
The grid girls, pit bosses, mechanics, and photographers are heading off the grid. It's race time.
The MotoGP riders take off on a quick sighting lap around the Mazda Raceway. In just a few minutes we will regrid and start racing.
It's race time! The green flag flies. And they're off!
Lorenzo has the advantage going into turn 1. Four Honda's follow in tow. Stoner, Pedrosa, Dovizioso, Simoncelli.
As the MotoGP riders roar through lap one. Lorenzo has built up a few bike lengths ahead of the Hondas.
Rossi and Spies are riding side by side in fourth and fifth.
We've git a rider down. Cal Crutchlow loses it. Cructhlow is up and ok, but his Yamaha looks prett beat up.
28 laps to go - Lorenzo - Pedrosa - Stoner - Dovizioso - Simoncelli - Spies - Rossi - Hayden
Lorenzo, Pedrosa, and Stoner are beginning to build a small gap, but Dovizioso isn't too far behind.
Simoncelli - Gone - Marco Simoncelli has crashed out of the race.
Lorenzo still leads with 25 laps to go. The top three riders are all lapping consistently in the 1'21s.
Dovizioso has dropped back to more than two seconds behind Lorenzo.
Spies is another four seconds back while Rossi sites 8 seconds behind Lorenzo.
It looks like Ben Bostrom is calling it a day. Bostrom, the American wildcard for the LCR team, has just brought his bikes into the pits.
22 laps to go - Lorenzo - Pedrosa - Stoner - Dovizioso - Spies - Rossi - Hayden - Bautista - Barbera - Edwards
Alvaro Bautista is out. Bautista lowsides at turn five and will retire from the race.
Lorenzo still leads the way. Lorenzo, Pedrosa, and Stoner now have 8 seconds over Dovizioso.
Spies, Rossi, and Hayden have an interesting battle for fifth, but Spies is in no real danger right now.
Up front, Lorenzo still holds the lead.
Stoner makes a ballsy pass by Pedrosa down the corkscrew.
Pedrosa has fallen a little bit off of Stoner and Lorenzo's pace.
10 laps to go. No changes up at the front. Lorenzo and Stoner are building a small gap in front of Pedrosa.
Pedrosa is now two seconds behind the leaders.
Lorenzo - Stoner - Pedrosa - Dovizioso - Spies - Rossi - Hayden - Edwards - Barbera - Abraham
Stoner currently holds 15 points ahead of Lorenzo in the overall standings. He'll have to make a move soon if doesn't want Lorenzo to eat further into that lead.
Stoner makes his pass! Stoner sprints by Lorenzo down the stretch and takes the lead as the riders head into lap 6.
Stoner had some speed save up. He's passed Lorenz and has now taken a 4 bike length lead.
Lorenzo has cut down the gap a bit, as he tries to set himself for a pass. Four laps to go.
Spies is now riding right off of Dovizioso's tail as we head into the final few laps.
Spies makes his pass. Spies ducks down into the inside of Dovizioso and takes fourth with just two laps remaining.
Up at the front, Stoner has pulled away. Stoner has ore than two seconds ahead of Lorenzo. If the Australian can keep it on two wheels he'll be extending his points lead over Lorenzo.
Hayden is riding in Rossi's shadow. Can Hayden get it passed the doctor in the final lap?
Stoner brings it up on one wheel as he crosses the line to take the Laguna Seca victory!
Lorenzo will have to settle for second while Dani Pedrosa will take the final spot on the podium.
Ben Spies was able to hold off Dovizioso, while Rossi was able to keep Hayden at bay to secure sixth.
