Heavy rains and a whole lot of crashing caused the MotoGP to cancel the second free practice sessions this afternoon. Clean-up crews spent around two hours trying to scrub all the spilled oil off of the Assen circuit, but ultimately the decision was made to cancel racing due to the dangerous conditions.
The MotoGP and Moto2 riders each got a free practice session in under heavy rain, but due to the amount of crashes, espeicially in the Moto2 class, nearly a third of the track was covered in oil.
The MotoGP announced that the second free practice sessions will be scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9:15.
