Spies and Edwards Auction Off Gear for Feed the Children

Ben_Spies_EstorilHot on the heels of the massively successful MotoGP Day of Champions auction, Ben Spies and Colin Edwards are again putting their old gear to good use. The two Yamaha riders will be auctioning off their old gear to raise money for Feed the Children.

Yamaha will be auctioning off a set of Ben Spies’ original Alpinestars factory leathers, boots and gloves. The winner of the Colin Edwards package will be getting his Spidi leathers, his Arai helmet and Sidi boots and gloves. On top of that, Edwards is also donating a 4-day “Texas Tornado Boot Camp” at his camp in Texas.

“Both Ben and Colin are tremendously popular with American race fans and all of us at Yamaha are proud that they have donated both their time and their gear to such a worthy cause,” said Bob Starr, Yamaha’s General Manager of National Communications. “And to see them both on the GE stage together at this years’ Red Bull U.S. GP will surely be a treat for all the fans, especially the winning bidders!”

Yamaha will also be giving the winning bidders a pair of weekend 3-day general admission passes, including paddock access, to the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, in July. The winners will be put up in a hotel for the weekend. They will also be invited to the stage at a Saturday dinner where they will be able to get their gear autographed by the MotoGP stars in person.

The auction started yesterday on eBay and runs until June 20th. You can vote on the Ben Spies auction here (the price is currently at $2,500), or the Colin Edwards auction here ($3,750).
