Before Marco Simoncelli hits that track at Catalunya, he’ll have to discuss the incident that sidelined Dani Pedrosa at Le Mans.
Here is the statement from the MotoGP Race Direction:
“The Race Direction will call Italian rider Marco Simoncelli during the Catalunya Grand Prix this week, to further discuss the incident during the MotoGP race at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans.”
Dani Pedrosa suffered a broken collarbone after his crash at Le Mans and could miss the Catalunya GP. Simoncelli was given a ride-thru penalty after the incident, but Pedrosa felt that he deserved a harsher punishment.
"I was having a good race,” Pedrosa said. I had (the podium) in my grasp, but now it counts for nothing. I leave here with a broken collarbone and he with a ride-through penalty, good for him! It is very unfair. I don't deserve it."
