Dani Pedrosa fractured his collarbone in a controversial accident involving Marco Simoncelli at Le Mans last week. The Repsol Honda rider has been weighing his options over the last couple of days, and has decided that surgery was his best option.
Pedrosa underwent surgery on his collarbone earlier this morning. Dr. Joaquim Casanas and Dr. Cesar Garcia performed the operation. They are the same doctors that worked on Pedrosa's shoulder in April.
Pedrosa had a titanium plate inserted to fix the fracture in his collarbone. Pedrosa's doctors have not ruled him out for the Catalunya GP, but the Repsol Honda Rider has not confirmed his participation either.
Pedrosa is expected to be out of the hospital later today and will begin rehabilitation next week.
