Yamaha Celebrates 50 Years of GP Racing With Red and White Livery

yamaha_anniversary_liveryThe Yamaha Racing team will be celebrating 50 years of GP racing with various events and activities throughout the 2011 season. The Yamaha team just announced that for the Assen and Laguna Seca races, the YZR-M1 will be dressed in special red and white livery.

2010 MotoGP champion Jorge Lorenzo and his teammate Ben Spies will unveil the WGP50th Anniversary livery at the Assen circuit on June 22nd.

Lorenzo and Spies, as well as the whole Yamaha staff and team crew will also be wearing the anniversary livery during the Assen and Laguna Seca events.

"I love these colors,” Lorenzo said. “Read, Agostini, they all ran similar color schemes when they won so the opportunity to use it on the YZR-M1 is really nice. It’s a very special year for Yamaha and we hope that these colors will give us luck in these two races."
