A lot has been made about the crash involving Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner during the second race of the 2011 MotoGP season in Jerez. But Race Direction has just released a statement saying that all the hoopla was over nothing.
The statement from the MotoGP Race Direction reads:
"After reviewing various videos of the incident between Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner during the race of the Grand Prix of Spain on 3 April 2011 and hearing the explanation from Juan Alvarez, Director of the Circuito de Jerez, the Race Direction has decided that the behaviour of the track marshals was safe and appropriate. The Race Direction recommends the current rules be reviewed by the Grand Prix Commission in order to study possible solutions that may results in better procedures."
After the incident, Stoner was upset with Rossi, but more upset with how the race marshals handled the event. Stoner felt that the race marshals in Jerez gave most of their attention to Rossi, and did not give him the help he needed to get his bike back on the circuit.
Apparently the MotoGP Race Direction does not feel the same way.

Yeah I recon that is the correct way track marshals should deal with incidents.
Only a self serving shallow minded nit wit would say the officials acted correctly.
What a discrace, take responsibility for your actions, when you stuff up have the guts to cop it.
