The MotoGP race in Jerez was an exciting one. Jorge Lorenzo took his first victory of the 2011 season. Dani Pedrosa fought hard through shoulder pain to claim his second podium finish of the season. And a crash between Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner had MotoGP fans talking for days.

Jorge Lorenzo currently leads the series with 45 points. Dani Pedrosa sits in second, five points behind the leader. Pedrosa's teammate Casey Stoner was riding at the top of the MotoGP standings, but his DNF in Jerez dropped him down to third place.
The third race of the 2011 racing season will be held in Portugal on May 1st.
