Yesterday, Valentino Rossi got a chance to take the next generation of Ducati racing bikes, the Desmosedici GP12, around the Jerez track. Today, his teammate Nicky Hayden, was able to put in some laps with the future Ducati machine.

Hayden and the Ducati team almost had to call off the testing session due to early morning rain, but the sun came out in the afternoon and Hayden was able to ride.
“After lunch, I was able to put on my leathers and I couldn’t wait to ride,” Hayden said. “It was worth the wait. It’s an honor to be able to participate in the first track test of the GP12 because it doesn’t happen very often that you get to ride a bike on the track for the first time: it’s a special feeling.
“Everything went very well. We didn’t have a single problem. The motor is really nice to use. I had a lot of fun riding the bike.”
Despite Hayden’s limited amount of time with the bike, he was still able to put in more than 60 laps. You can check out Valentino Rossi's testing session with the GP12 here.
