Rossi Has Stitches Removed, Hopeful About Recovery Hot

Valentino Rossi is hopeful that he will be fit and healthy in time for the tests in Sepang before the first round of the 2011 MotoGP season. Rossi just had the stitches removed from his shoulder surgery, and should start training again in two weeks.

“I'm undergoing rehabilition on my shoulder and the situation is improving,” Rossi said. “It's been two weeks since the operation and Doctor Porcellini has removed the stitches: I can now go back to the gym to workout - at least on the rest of my body - and continue to work on the shoulder, even if it's just passive rehab, to make sure we don't lose any mobility."

Rossi will be switching to Ducati for the 2011 season, and needs as much time as he can get before the first round to get comfortable with his new bike.

"In about two weeks I will begin to work actively in the pool and gym to be ready for the three days of testing in February (1-3)," Rossi said. "We must make haste, but we hope to be fit for the first test with Ducati in 2011 in Sepang."
